How many CE hours do New York RNs need?
NYSED lists no general CE-hour requirement for RN registration. You must complete NYSED-approved infection control coursework every 4 years (or hold an exemption) and one-time child abuse reporting coursework.
What if my New York registration expires?
Your license is valid for life, but you are not legally allowed to practice while your registration is expired. Online renewal is open in the final 5 months of the period and up to 4 months after it ends.
